Chloe Mun was born in Yeosu, South Korea, in 1995 and began her piano studies at the age of five. From 2010 to 2020, she studied with Professor Daejin Kim at the Korea National University of Arts and from 2022-23 as an Artist Diploma student at the Barenboim Said Academy with Sir András Schiff. Jörg Demus, chairman of the jury of the 60th Busoni Competition, said of her: "I rediscovered in her the naturalness of musicality that I thought had disappeared." That was in 2015, when she finally won the competition; however, she was already known worldwide by then, as she won the first prize in the piano competition at the Concours de Genève in 2014. She is now one of the most sought-after musicians of her generation.
Chloe Mun has given solo recitals at the Gewandhaus, the Wigmore Hall, the National Philharmonic in Warsaw, the Salle Cortot, the Arthur Rubinstein Philharmonic in Bydgoszcz and the Seoul Arts Centre, among many others. She has also performed at renowned festivals such as the Chopin and His Europe, the Duszniki Chopin Festival, the Arthur Rubinstein Piano Festival, the Festival Omaggio di Michelangeli and the Pharos Music Festival. Her first album, Robert Schumann. Piano Sonata No. 1 & Fantasie was released in 2017 on the Deutsche Grammophon label.
