The Vienna Men's Choral Society (WMGV for short) is a piece of living Viennese tradition. Founded over 180 years ago (6 October 1843), it has already established its historical place as a musical institution. Johann Strauss wrote the „secret anthem of Austria“, the Danube Waltz, especially for it - the „Wiener Männergesang-Verein“. Bruckner, Wagner and other famous composers also dedicated compositions to it.
