Vera Derici, born in Istanbul in 2004, began her professional music career at the age of seven when she studied piano at Bilkent University in Ankara with a "Gifted Scholarship". Vera Derici has lived in Vienna since 2020 and has been studying piano with Tamara Atschba at the Franz Schubert Conservatory since 2023. She was awarded the Young Artist Award 2022 honoured. In 2023 and 2024, her growing interest in composition and chamber music led to numerous performances with flute, viola and violin, including the performance of several of her own compositions. Vera Derici is also enthusiastic about interdisciplinary concert formats and electro-acoustic music and incorporates unconventional materials into her works. Supported by Turkish organisations, she presented her compositions in a series of concerts on the theme of Turkey. She was entrusted with the composition of an orchestral work that was written by The black book the novel by Nobel Prize winner Orhan Pamuk. Since 2024 she has been studying composition at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna .
