Musical competition has a long tradition. To this day, young soloists regularly take part in the concertante competition at the start of their careers. In this concert, Antonia Straka and pianist Gabriel Meloni present excerpts from the competition programme of the Budapest International Cello Competition and lets the audience take part in the preparations. The aim is to win one of the coveted prizes and come out on top, to be "simply the best" - but as we all know, the journey is often the reward.
