Paganini Variations
Leon Gurvitch is not only an exceptional pianist, he also composes and conducts his own works. This gives him the freedom to creatively unite a wide variety of styles: he writes, plays and loves classical music and is equally inspired by diverse influences. He is now presenting his new solo piano album (released on the label Solo Musica ) not only as composer, but also as a performer of his own works in the Ehrbar Saal.
The centrepiece of the new album is the piano cycle Musique Mélancolique, which on the one hand addresses the sadness of the ongoing war and on the other the hope for a better, peaceful world. The partly melancholic, partly lively melodies are enchanting and allow you to sink into your thoughts. In this way, the artist expresses his reflections on war and peace in music and wants to build a bridge between people in these difficult times and take an important step towards peace and mutual understanding through the unifying and healing power of music.
Leon Gurvitch celebrated his debut in 2017 to standing ovations at the sold-out Carnegie Hall in New York. Since then, he has made guest appearances in various major concert halls such as the Berlin Philharmonie, the Leipzig Gewandhaus and the Elbphilharmonie. His works, which now number over 400, including film soundtracks and music for ballet and opera, are performed all over the world - the Kennedy Center Washington and the Cité des Arts Paris are just a few of many examples.
Gurvitch is a magician of expression
