Mitra Kotte, born in Vienna, has won several prizes as a soloist and chamber musician at national and international competitions: MozARTe Aachen, Benjamin Prize of the Wolfgang Boesch Private Foundation, Zhuhai International Mozart Competition for Young Musicians, China, Musica Juventutis Vienna, Ettlingen International Piano Competition. She has been repeatedly honoured for her interpretation of classical works in particular, including the Haydn Prize and the Margaretha Schenk Foundation Prize for Young Artists from the Mozart Community in Vienna. She received numerous prizes and awards in her youth (including the Rosario Marciano Piano Competition, Munich Piano Podium, Jenö Takács Piano Competition).
For the 2022/23 season, she was selected as a "Featured Artist" of Jeunesse-musik.erleben. The highlight of this honour is her performance of R. Schumann's Piano Concerto in A minor, Op. 54 together with the Vienna Jeunesse Orchestra in the Great Hall of the Vienna Musikverein. This season she can also be heard in her debut at the Brucknerhaus Linz in the WortKlang series, in the Music and Poetry series at the Vienna Konzerthaus and in the Wort Musik I series at the Vienna Musikverein. Last season, she performed L. v. Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 3 together with the Webern Kammerphilharmonie at the Vienna Konzerthaus and appeared at the Ljubljana Festival and the Upper Austrian Stiftskonzerte. In the 2015/16 season, she made her debut at the Gesellschaft der Musikfreunde with a piano recital in the Gläserne Saal of the Vienna Musikverein. In the same season, she performed at the Liszt Festival in Raiding. She has also performed for the International Choir Society, the Beethoven Society Vienna and the Cziffra Foundation. Concert tours have also taken her to numerous European countries, Asia, Africa and the USA. She has performed with the Tehran Symphony Orchestra (S. Rachmaninov, Piano Concerto No. 2), the Dohnányi Symphony Orchestra (W. A. Mozart Piano Concerto in C minor, K. 491), the Vienna Youth Philharmonic Orchestra (W. A. Mozart, Piano Concerto in D minor, K. 466) and the Salzburg Chamber Soloists (W. A. Mozart, Piano Concerto in E flat major, K. 271).
She received her first piano lessons at the age of four. She transferred to the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna at an early age, where she was supported as part of a programme for highly talented children and young people. From 2012, she studied piano with Martin Hughes at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna and has been studying chamber music with Stefan Mendl since 2021. In the 2017/2018 academic year, she spent two semesters abroad with Daejin Kim at the Korea National University of Arts in Seoul. Till Fellner is also one of her mentors.
She received further artistic inspiration from masterclasses with Lang Lang, Karl-Heinz Kämmerling, Maria João Pires, Oleg Maisenberg, Robert Levin, Paul Badura-Skoda, Jacques Rouvier, Elisso Virsaladze and Bernd Goetzke.
