BasbariTenori

Experience the Vienna Chamber Choir and the band BasbariTenori in a programme of diverse music from Austria!

Aut of Music - from bitterly serious to sugary sweet - This programme is intended to showcase a selection and variety of secular (choral) compositions and arrangements from Vienna and Austria, past and present: Works by Johannes Brahms, Franz Schreker, Heinz Kratochwil, Herwig Reiter, through to arrangements of songs by Austropop greats Wolfgang Ambros, Rainhard Fendrich, Willi Resetarits, Ernst Molden, Hubert von Goisern and Christian Kolonovits.
From classical to contemporary, the palette of flavours and texts on which the music is based ranges.
The vocal and instrumental group BasbariTenori will add a musical and linguistic facet to this programme. The music of these four Burgenland Croats living in Vienna and Bratislava reflects the diversity of their being: sometimes they sing Krovodian, sometimes weanarian. In addition to traditional Croatian songs from Burgenland and new interpretations from their very own Krowodnrock the quartet presents poetry set to music, sometimes powerful, sometimes delicate and filigree. Together with the Vienna Chamber Choir the voices and instruments of the Basbaritenori in a new, impressive body of sound.
The exceptional singers Tomček, Palček, Rupček and Filček also take their musical hats off to their former fifth co-singer and co-founder of the band, whom they lost on their journey together: Wilček, Willi Resetarits.
It is a programme full of creativity and passion for Austrian music and musicians, a concert that will appeal to both heart and mind, touch and inspire!

Vienna Chamber Choir ...

... specialist for special moments full of musical radiance. The Vienna Chamber Choir has developed into an internationally trend-setting ensemble for the contemporary interpretation of choral music since its foundation in 1947. The choir's high artistic standards and collegial cooperation allow it to constantly tackle new challenges and master them with great musical perfection and precision. Extensive CD productions for the publishers Helbling and Carus as well as participation in top competitions and festivals bear witness to this.
Beyond the Austrian choral and cultural scene, the Vienna Chamber Choir also participates in international festivals. It was and is a partner of the Haydn Festival (now: Autumn gold) in Eisenstadt, from Vienna Modern, Easter sound, the New Opera Vienna, of the Bruckner Festival in Linz, the Beethoven Festivals in Bonn, the Liszt Festival in Raiding and the styriarte.

BasbariTenori ...

... are all Burgenland Croats from Austria and Slovakia. When these voices come together, "old" sounds resound in a new splendour. Traditional Croatian melodies and lyrics from Burgenland are interpreted by this ensemble in their very own way. The folk songs are brought into a new context, they sound in a new guise. Always flirting with the time-honoured tones, they play around them with musical elements of pop, jazz and barbershop, always a cappella. These arrangements are the symbiosis of tradition and the modern musical understanding of the BasBariTenori. Contemporary folk music, so to speak.
