THIS CONCERT will present a selection of works by French composers who lent an enormous richness to the European understanding of music at the time and at the same time reflected the rest of the world. With the works interpreted by Gökçen Remes and Altuğ Tekin, one moves from French Romanticism to Modernism and becomes witness to the musical developments of the pre-war, interwar and post-war periods, and the changes in terms of harmonic, melodic and rhythmic aspects of music. The key words here are romanticism, modernism, impressionism, les six, neoclassicism, avant-garde and eclecticism.
