Ehrbar Saal

THE Ehrbar Saal, built between 1876 and 1877, is known worldwide among musicians for its excellent acoustics. Following its renovation, it now shines in new splendour.
In addition to state-of-the-art sound and lighting technology, the basic equipment includes a C. Bechstein Concert D 282 grand piano.

The hall is suitable for concerts of all kinds and can accommodate up to 375 people after renovation.

Kleiner Ehrbar Saal

Built in 1911, the Kleine Ehrbar Saal is a veritable Art Nouveau jewel in which everything from the Thonet seating to the parquet flooring and chandeliers has been preserved in its original state.
The basic equipment includes a C. Bechstein Concert C 234 semi-concert grand piano and a C. Bechstein Concert B 212 parlour grand piano. It is particularly suitable for chamber music and can seat up to 48 people after renovation.
  • 2 grand pianos: C. Bechstein Concert B 212 and C. Bechstein Concert C 234 semi-concert grand pianos; only one can be removed
  • Well suited for chamber music or more intimate events, such as vocal or song recitals
  • Beautiful acoustic curtains that can be used to model the room acoustics from rather dry acoustics to more reverberation
  • Small artist's room
  • Two stage spotlights
  • Original Thonet seating from 1877, original wall panelling, original chandelier
  • Instruments or mixing desks can also be hired
  • Piano tuning is obligatory
  • No lift (1st floor)
  • Cloakroom and EhrBAR can be booked separately

You also have the opportunity to organise your concert in the Ehrbar Saal. We offer an experienced team who will be delighted to accompany you on your journey, from the musical idea to the concert evening.

We also offer a concert buffet to cater for your guests according to your wishes. For concerts in the Ehrbar Saal, it is open as standard 1 hour before the event and during the 20-minute interval.

The Ehrbar Saal, the Kleine Ehrbar Saal and several rehearsal rooms of different sizes and equipment are available for hire. All rooms are equipped with exclusive and constantly maintained C. Bechstein grand pianos. First and foremost, on the stage of the Ehrbar Hall, is our C. Bechstein concert grand piano D 282.
