Musical youth power from Venezuela: the Tocuyito Trio, the 2023/2024 Featured Ensemble, combines classical works with traditional music from South America. "Our trio plays original compositions and arrangements of Venezuelan folk music in piano trio format," emphasise Dalina, Santo and Joseph. Modelled on the Janoska Ensemble, the Tocuyito Trio mixes styles and genres to create groovy and atmospheric pieces and incorporates maracas, cuatro and bandola, which complement the experience of playing folk music with classical instruments.
