Mozart, Haydn, Beethoven, Schubert etc. knew a different Vienna - a Vienna in which civil servants, doctors and numerous other professional groups were also talented and well-trained musicians who characterised artistic life in the countless Viennese salons.
Claire Meissner Bernard is a neuroscientist in Switzerland, Vera-Lise K. Ihm is an employee of the City of Vienna and heads the competence area Epidemiological wastewater monitoring. Both have won prizes at numerous international piano competitions for amateur pianists. They perform regularly at international festivals - both solo and with symphony orchestras.
"We want to arouse curiosity that it is still possible to combine active music-making with a career, even in today's fast-paced world, and convey the message that it is worth investing in the long-term musical education of children and adults - even if the goal is not to become a professional musician."
Organised by Claire Meissner Bernard and Vera-Lise K. Ihm. Further information on the topic of Prof Günther Noll on the side of the Forum of Salzburg Folk Culture. Admission: Free donation.
