Among other things, he was honoured in 2010 at the Concorso Corale Internazionale with 38 participating groups from 13 countries was awarded a gold diploma in the most difficult category.
The choir was founded in the 1980s by a group of song-loving students from all regions of Carinthia who wanted to cultivate the Carinthian song culture in their adopted home of Vienna. Bernhard Sturm, a former Viennese choirboy and graduate of the Vienna University of Music, has been the choirmaster of the KSGW since 1984.
