Thai Steinway Artist Nat Yontararak invites the audience on an impressive musical journey through his homeland with the Siam Sonata - his four-part masterpiece that combines traditional Thai folk melodies with Western classical form. Each movement reflects the spirit of a different region of Thailand and transforms cultural identity into musical narrative.
The programme begins with Norah, a new composition to celebrate the 340th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Thailand and France. Also in the programme is Crystal Pheasant - Nat Yontararak's historic work for solo piano - based on a Thai folk melody, with proven success on international stages such as the Penderecki Festival and Victoria Hall in Singapore.

"A performance that conveys the soul of Thailand."
- Karl Steppe, President of Blue Elephant

The Siam Sonata is presented as an extraordinary artistic collaboration: with piano and live percussion by Łukasz Kurzydło, a cross-genre sound designer and composer who was recently awarded the Bronze Cross of Merit of Poland, and traditional dancers from the Christian Communication Institute (CCI), a multi-award-winning cultural group that has performed internationally at venues including the White House and Bethlehem.

Nat Yontararak ...

... is one of Thailand's most respected classical musicians. A pianist, composer, pedagogue, and cultural builder, he embodies a singular artistic vision in which Thai identity finds expression through the universal language of the piano. His signature work, Siam Sonata, inspired by the folk melodies of Thailand's four regions, has been performed over 100 times across Europe and the United States.
He was the first Thai artist to be named a Steinway Artist, and was honoured as an outstanding contemporary artist by Thailand's Ministry of Culture. His compositions, many of which pay tribute to the Thai royal family, have been performed at royal and state occasions. As a concert pianist, he has appeared at prestigious venues including the Thailand Cultural Centre, Carnegie Hall in New York, and numerous festivals internationally.
In 2024, Nat was named one of Tatler Asia's 100 Most Influential People in Thailand, and received the "Bene Merito" Decoration of Honour from the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs. In 2018, he was appointed Knight of the Order of the Star of Italy, a distinction awarded by the President of the Italian Republic for his role in fostering cultural relations between Italy and Thailand. In 2015, he was also awarded the Decoration of Honour for Polish Culture by the Polish Ministry of Culture, in recognition of his artistic contributions.
A visionary committed to cultural development, Nat Yontararak founded Nat Studio in 1985, now one of Thailand's most prestigious piano institutions, where he has trained several generations of young artists. Drawing on his background in architecture, he also designed and established Sala Sudasiri Sobha, a leading concert venue in Bangkok. The hall not only nurtures emerging talent but also hosts international artists in collaboration with several embassies and cultural institutions.
Through his compositions, his teaching, and his commitment to building cultural bridges, Nat Yontararak continues to bring Thai classical music to the world stage.
