Carinthian Singing Community in Vienna
Bernhard Sturm conductors
The "Kärntner Singgemeinschaft in Wien" (KSGW) is a mixed choir with around 40 singers. Founded more than 40 years ago as a choir of Carinthians in Vienna, the majority of the members are still Carinthians today. The choirmaster of the KSGW is Bernhard Sturm.
Today, as in the past, the Carinthian folk song is at the centre of the KSGW's vocal activities. It is the primary focus of rehearsals. The musical spectrum of the KSGW has also expanded considerably since the choir was founded, with vocal works by composers from all stylistic periods up to the 21st century being rehearsed and performed, as well as Carinthian songs.
At its traditional Carinthian song recital in the Ehrbar Saal, the KSGW dedicates itself exclusively to its traditional repertoire: beautiful and gschmachiges from Carinthia. For Carinthians in Vienna and all friends of the Carinthian song.
Organised by the Kärntner Singgemeinschaft in Vienna. Tickets at € 25,-/18,- (regular/students and young people) at the box office (cash only) and reservations by email to office@ksgw.at
