BOTH artists, born in 1970 in the former USSR, live in Vienna. Julya Rabinowich - celebrated writer and literary prizewinner - reads from her bestsellers ("Herznovelle", "Spaltkopf", "Dazwischen: ich") and is accompanied musically (and narratively) by star violinist Aliosha Biz (Dobrek Bistro, Gentlemen Music Club, Timna Brauer). The two span the arc from the loss of the old homeland to self-discovery as an artist in a foreign country, which becomes a new home. Aliosha Biz Klezmer Project is a young, cheeky, groovy klezmer band consisting of 3 guys over 50, all of whom are stars of the Viennese music scene. In this project, fiddler Aliosha Biz rethought klezmer music and added loops and beats generated by electronics, among other things. So no "OLD SCHOOL" klezmer only for purists, but: the dancefloor is open! Together with his long-time stage companions Christoph Petschina (double bass) and Sasha Shevchenko (accordion), he takes the audience on a musical journey through the world of Jewish music, from its beginnings to the present day.
