On 7 March 2024, Moment Musical invites you to a French pre-spring music walk.

Finely chiselled pieces of music with the rather unusual wind trio oboe, bassoon and piano, from the pens of Eugene Jancourt, Jean Francaix and Francis Poulenc, will enchant you and let the sun rise in the beautiful Ehrbarsaal with a touch of Parisian freshness.

While we are all too familiar with the classical piano trio with violin and violoncello and its works, this concert will surprise us with a trio combination for winds and piano with extraordinary compositions by these three French masters:

Eugene Jancourt (1815 - 1901)

Francis Poulenc (1899 - 1963) and

Jean Françaix (1912-1997)

Although these works enjoyed great success, only a few compositions were written for this type of trio. True virtuosos of their instruments will present these selected musical treasures to their listeners on 7 March. The pieces for wind-piano formations surprise with melodic new inventiveness, again and again with rhythmic humour, but also with elegant, song-like simplicity and have lost nothing of their impressive refreshment.
