Freie Kunst ...

… conceives itself as a fluid collective, traversing the spectrum from intimate chamber music to full orchestral resonance, guided by the vision and programming of conductor Aleksei Mikhailenko. His curation is defined by a remarkable degree of modernity and creative flair, resonating with a receptive and youthful concert-going audience. From cinematic scores and contemporary compositions to the evocative music of Japanese anime, the repertoire spans vast geographical horizons while exploring a diverse tapestry of genres. Mikhailenko, a virtuoso of stagecraft, masterfully weaves sensory elements into his performances. He creates multidimensional works of art, harmonizing music with immersive light shows, hundreds of flickering LED candles, and – as a future vision – ethereal scents.
Drawing upon a rich and multifaceted musical heritage, Aleksei Mikhailenko is celebrated for his interdisciplinary collaborations, innovative methodologies, and his leadership of prestigious orchestras and projects. Beyond his distinguished career as a soloist and principal clarinetist with the Estonian Festival Orchestra under Paavo Järvi and the Baltic Sea Philharmonic under Kristjan Järvi, Mikhailenko has brought his passion as both performer and conductor to collaborations with the Vienna Symphony, the Danish National Symphony Orchestra, the Vienna Radio Symphony Orchestra, the George Enescu Philharmonic, and the Gran Canaria Philharmonic – to name but a few.
