THE FIRST EVENING of the new ECMS concert series sets a vocal focus with its programme, on the one hand with the Scottish Songs by Joseph Haydn with Kammersänger Adrian Eröd, and on the other with the second piano trio by Felix Mendelssohn-Bartholdy, which delves into the chorale world of Johann Sebastian Bach with its last movement.
