Pianist Linda Leine and soprano Pia Davila have been working together steadily since autumn 2014. This exciting journey began at the "Schubert und die Moderne" competition in Graz in 2015, where the duo won third prize. Since then, they have performed throughout Germany, Switzerland and Austria. In Schwerin in 2016, the musicians won first prize in the Ostracised Music Competition - which marked the beginning of the duo's work with music by ostracised composers. Since then, Linda Leine and Pia Davila have developed a broad repertoire, the centrepieces of which can now be heard on the CD. There are various reasons why the musicians have dedicated themselves to this topic in particular. In addition to the fantastic musical quality of the often far too unknown works and texts, it is important to both artists to make a social contribution with their profession. While Linda Leine has experienced the stories of her own Jewish family on her father's side - her grandfather was interned in several German concentration camps and survived the Holocaust - Pia Davila is committed to maintaining the memory for a democratic and peaceful life in the future. She was a member of the "Freundeskreis KZ-Gedenkstätte Neuengamme e.V." for many years and her commitment to the guest student programme for refugees at the Hamburg University of Music and Theatre was honoured with an invitation to the 2019 New Year's reception at the Federal President's residence at Bellevue Palace.
