Schubert's Winterreise is rightly regarded as one of the most profound and moving works of Romantic song. We are delighted that the internationally acclaimed bass Jan Martiník will be performing it in the Ehrbar Saal with his expressive voice and nuanced interpretation skills.

The CD was recorded by the renowned Diapason-magazine with a five-star rating. Martiník is associated with the Czech Philharmonic Orchestra, the Collegium 1704 and the LSO under Sir Simon Rattle through many years of collaboration. He regularly performs at festivals such as the Edinburgh International Festival, Chopin i jego Europa in Warsaw or Dvořák Prague to hear. For Decca the recording of Dvořák's Biblical songs. His recording of Kabeláč' Hunting Songs was nominated for the ICMA in 2024.
He has a long-standing collaboration with the Czech pianist Alexandr Starý, a sought-after accompanist for lieder and chamber music. His album recorded together with violinist Martina Bačová Elegant Provocation has received international recognition. Alexandr Stary is part of several chamber music formations, including the piano trio A Tre and the ANSemble Duettino. He has performed as an accompanist with Richard Novák, among others. He has held a teaching position as an accompanist at the University of Ostrava for many years.
