Carnegie in Vienna - From New York to the Ehrbarsaal!
We are delighted to welcome the internationally renowned violist and pedagogue Thomas Riebl for a special concert, the net proceeds of which will be donated to development cooperation!
In November 2022, Thomas Riebl performed a recital in the chamber music hall of Carnegie Hall in New York to mark the 40th anniversary of his winning the International Naumburg Competition.
To mark the occasion, he performed a concert programme that he had designed around this instrument on a five-string tenor viola that he had built especially for him.
He will perform this programme at this benefit matinée in the Ehrbar Saal in aid of the Entwicklungshilfeklub. The Entwicklungshilfeklub is a Vienna-based organisation that has been working to overcome poverty and oppression worldwide since 1973. It supports people in Africa, Asia and Latin America with specific projects to achieve this goal. The following project will be supported with the proceeds from ticket sales: Stopping child labour: School education instead of child labour for girls.
Organised by Cello Expansion Cultural Association. Tickets can be purchased in advance and at the box office at the following prices: € 38,- (regular), € 28,- (pensioners) & € 12,- (students). The net proceeds will go to the Development aid club.
