"Music breaks all boundaries, be it language, nationality or war. It must not be self-expression. We should serve the music so that it can sound unadulterated - and not the other way round." Says Manoush Ruken Toth, winner of the Beecham International Piano Competition 2022. in the Jeunesse series Onkeys she not only traces the connections between Clara Schumann and Johannes Brahms, but also those between Bach and Bartók. Early on, the latter devoted himself to the great Baroque master at the piano, and even much later Bartók saw Bach as one of the main points of orientation for his compositional thinking.
