The Vienna Piano Summer Festival is organised annually by the Vienna Piano School and invites pianists from all over the world to showcase their skills on stage.
The second part of the festival is the International Piano Competition entitled Viennese Classicism. 65 selected pianists aged 7-35 are invited to the second round in the Ehrbarsaal. Each participant will play a work of Viennese classical music, the rest of the programme is freely selectable. An international jury of experts will judge the performers, and the best in each category will go on to perform in the Glass Hall of the Musikverein. With over 250 registrations from more than 50 countries last year, this competition has quickly become a major international event.
