THE Chinese pianist Yilan Zhao studied at the Juilliard School in New York
and the Zurich University of the Arts. She is a prizewinner of the Kosziuszko Foundation Chopin Piano Competition in New York and has performed at the Cologne Philharmonie, Alice Tully Hall in New York and the Lucerne Festival. In the Jeunesse series AnTasten, Yilan Zhao performs one of Sergei Rachmaninov's most extraordinary piano works, his mighty Second Sonata, a masterpiece full of delicate lyricism and obsessive intensity.
