The third concert in the cycle commemorates the 100th anniversary of Gabriel Fauré's death; the second half of the programme is dedicated to his monumental Piano Quartet in C minor. The piano trio from the still under-recognised oeuvre of composer Germaine Tailleferre presents completely different aspects of French piano chamber music. In the string quartet by Claude Debussy, the young Doppler Quartet will present one of the greatest masterpieces of French chamber music.
