THE INSTITUTE FOR SINGING AND MUSIC THEATRE, at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna, houses classes for song and oratorio. Around 150 students are enrolled at the institute, for whom regular presentations in front of a larger audience are an important pedagogical factor and therefore part of their training - because there is a big difference between performing an aria or a song in a small practice room and having to prove yourself in front of an audience in a large room. Concerts are therefore of central importance for singing students.
