Marika Ottitsch soprano
Viennese zither friends

Come on in!

With Carl Michael Ziehrer’s fiery Waltz, Op. 518 from the operetta The appraiser load the Viennese zither friends to the Autumn Concert 2026. This long-established society is almost as old as the Ehrbar Saal!

Let us once again appreciate how the zither – recognised by UNESCO as part of the cultural heritage – with its Viennese stringing really comes into its own, both visually and acoustically, in this beautiful setting.

On the programme: original compositions for the zither, a genre which the Vienna Zither Society is committed to promoting: this concert pays tribute to the society’s former namesake, Josef Haustein, on the centenary of his death. Also featuring: highlights from operetta, dance and light music of the 20th century, right through to pop classics.

We are delighted to welcome soprano Marika Ottitsch as our special guest.

Organised by Viennese zither friends. Tickets at €34,–/30,–/26,–/22,–/10,– (Cat. 1/2/3/4/wheelchair and standing room) available in advance at eventjet.at (Link) as well as at the box office (cash and card payments accepted).
