Songs from
Franz Schubert
Founded in 1978 to preserve and promote the German Lied, the Franz Schubert Institute hosts an annual five-week summer mastercourse titled The German Lied from Beethoven to Berg. This program distinguishes itself through its holistic approach, placing equal emphasis on the three pillars of art song: poetry, vocal performance, and the piano. Each day begins with a dedicated poetry session to deepen students' understanding of the text and its historical context. While the student body remains constant, the faculty rotates every three days, offering a unique variety of perspectives from the world's leading Lieder interpreters. Complemented by individual coaching in diction and interpretation, the course in Baden has earned prestigious international acclaim.
Organised by the Franz Schubert Institute in Baden bei Wien in co-operation with Ehrbar Saal by C. Bechstein. Tickets at € 45,- are available in advance at eventjet.at (Link) and at the box office. As this is a fundraiser, donations are most welcome.
