After the great success of last year's concert Noche española the renowned soprano Susanna Chakhoian, star of the Kyiv National Opera, returns to the Ehrbar Saal together with the much sought-after Spanish pianist Alejandro Picó-Leonís. On 10 March, they will present an international bouquet of songs about beauty, love, dreams and the fate of life.

This is already the 10th event, always associated with a Meet & Greet, within the framework of the Ukrainian-Austrian Association programme initiated together with Susanna Chakhoian Culture connects in the historic Ehrbar Hall. The net proceeds will benefit the Rotarian youth camp in Austria for 50 young Ukrainians in summer 2026.

Susanna Chakhoian is a highly esteemed lyric colouratura soprano from Ukraine, who was celebrated for many years as a soloist and pillar of the National Opera Ukraine until she fled to Vienna in March 2022. She is a prizewinner of renowned international singing competitions such as the Hans Gabor Belvedere Competition in Vienna. Several opera tours and many concerts took her to Western Europe early on. Susanna Chakhoian is internationally recognised for roles such as Lucia di Lammermoor in the opera by Gaetano Donizetti, Gilda in Giuseppe Verdi's Rigoletto or Musetta in Giacomo Puccini's La Bohème recognised. In addition to countless appearances on all major radio and TV channels in Ukraine, she has been a sought-after lecturer at the Glière Music University in Kyiv since 2013 and is now involved in the training of young singers in Vienna, where she has also been a professor at the newly founded Beethoven Conservatory in Vienna since 2024. In recent years, she has performed in Austria at venues including the Linz Music Theatre, the Stephaniensaal in Graz, the archbishop's residence in Salzburg and, together with Clemens Untereiner, at the Gars am Kamp Opera Festival.

The Spanish pianist Alejandro Picó-Leonis was born in Alicante. In 2002, he completed his master's degree at the City University of New York from. After his debut in 2002 at the Carnegie Hall as the winner of the Artist NY Debut Award he regularly performs as a soloist and chamber musician on international stages. Most recently, he has performed at festivals in Spain, Germany, India, the USA, the Netherlands, Slovakia and Austria. In the 2025/26 season, he will conduct the fifth season of the Schubertiade Vienna at the Haus der Ingenieure and the Ehrbar Saal in Vienna. As a sought-after accompanist, he has worked with renowned singers such as Francisco Araiza, Angelika Kirchschlager and Dame Felicity Lott. He was also assistant to Lied pianist Gerold Huber at the University of Music in Würzburg. He is also the founder of the Viennese piano trios. He has given masterclasses in the USA, Portugal, Austria and India. Since 2013, he has been a lecturer at the renowned Viennese masterclasses. Picó-Leonis played CD recordings for Oehms Classics, Odradek Records and Rondeau Productions in. In 2022, he received the Albéniz Institute Award in New York for his artistic career and his interpretations of Spanish music.
