DESCRIPTION:<div> <div dir="ltr"> <p dir="ltr">Nikolai NESTEROV</p> <p dir="ltr">Born into a family of musicians, pianist Nikolai Nesterov is in the third year of his Bachelor of Music degree in performance at the University of Calgary, currently studying with Dr. Jani Parsons. An alumnus of the Academy of Music for the Gifted Youth at the Mount Royal Conservatory, Nikolai has been an annual prize and scholarship winner at the Calgary Performing Arts Festival as well as the Canadian Music Competition since 2012. This year he became the inaugural recipient of the Gordon Bell Scholarship in Music and Student Experience. He also enjoyed participating in the Young Artists Development Program of Calgary’s Pro Musica for two years in a row.</p> <p dir="ltr">Most recently, Nikolai has appeared at the ProArts Society and Stingray Classical Live at the King Eddy concert series in Calgary along with his parents, pianist Dmitry Nesterov and violinist Olga Kotova. He was also a three-time runner-up at the Calgary Concerto Competition between 2016 and 2020.</p> <p dir="ltr">Agata SKULIMOWSKA</p> <p dir="ltr">Agata Skulimowska, originally from Poland, fell in love with Fryderyk Chopin’s music at a very young age. His music was so special to her, that at the age of twelve she was inspired to begin her formal training. In 2017, she completed a Bachelor degree at The Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw, Poland studying with professor Krzysztof Jablonski. In 2019 she moved to Calgary, Canada to continue her education and broaden her musical experiences, joining the Advanced Performance Program at Mount Royal University Conservatory. This year, Agata graduates with a Master's degree in Piano Performance at University of Calgary School of Creative and Performing Arts studying with Dr. Jani Parsons.</p> <p dir="ltr">Agata made her orchestral debut this year in Canada performing Grieg’s Piano Concerto in A Minor with the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra and is a laureate of national and international piano competitions in Europe. She has taken part in many masterclasses and music festivals around the world in Poland, Denmark, Japan, Rome and Canada. She has worked with acclaimed pianists and piano professors including Eugen Indjic, Sasha Starcevich, David Moroz, Tobias Koch, Janusz Olejniczak, Nikolai Demidenko and Alexander Braginsky.</p> <p dir="ltr">Along with her passion for solo performances, Agata is an active chamber musician, collaborative pianist and teacher.</p> </div> </div> <div dir="ltr"></div> <div dir="ltr">Nikolai Nesterov and Agata Skulimowska are both students of Dr. Jani Parsons at the University of Calgary School of Creative and Performing Arts, making their debut in Vienna through a generous gift from the Bell Family Fund.
